Description

I call my people True Believers.  Here’s why:

Defining True Believers

True believers have spent our entire lives believing that the world doesn’t have to work the way it does today.  We have believed that there is another road, a path of cooperation, of ease, of excitement that exists outside of the day-to-day drudgery in which the majority of the world lives.  We have explored new vistas, walked down new byways – all in search of that elusive vision of what “could be”.  We have felt incredibly alone on this path.  We have felt like no one was there who believed with us.  We have had to become headstrong and focused and we have had to let go of our dream of ever belonging anywhere.  We know that this is a real sacrifice but one we have had to make in order to create a new world where everyone can belong.

What We’re Missing

What true believers are lacking is a clear vision.  We know that there is something more than what is here.  We KNOW it.  But we aren’t clear on what it looks like.  The problem with this is that we are your 10% people.  90% of the world moves away from what it doesn’t want, but only 10% move towards what we do.  Well, the true believers are in that 10%, but we are foundering on the rocks of not having a vision to move towards.  What we want more than love or money or sex or even belonging is that VISION.  We need that clear hold on something to believe in.    We know what our pain is.  We live with it every day.  What we don’t know is what the pain is FOR.  We want a reason for our wanderings.  We want a path to our salvation.  We want to know what it is that we have been fighting for all these years on the blind faith that it exists whether we can see it clearly or not.

Vision Climbers

Give us a vision and we will climb it handily.  We are ready.  We have been training for this climb our entire lives.  We have learned the skills of self-sufficiency, focus, self-motivation, stepping out of the box, creative problem solving, motivating the masses, leadership, institution busting, belief shifting, and more.  We are ready.  All we need now is the mission.  Give us the mission and you give us our life’s purpose.  We need to see how our unique skills fit into the overall picture.  We need to know where we belong in this new world order.

No-Fear Approach

True Believers don’t live our lives in fear.  In fact, probably the only thing we are truly afraid of is finding out that we did all of this for nothing.  Our greatest fear is failing to find our true path – the one we have been searching for our entire lives.

Risky or Reckless?

To an outsider, the True Believer may seem a bit reckless.  After all, we have often given up positions of authority or power to step away from the established norm.  We have taken risks far beyond what most people would tolerate.  We have experimented with new ideas and new technologies.  We are explorers – and explorers take risks.  But we are not truly reckless – we are risk takers.  BIG risk takers, yes, but not reckless.  We make our decisions carefully.  We will often make them quickly because we don’t like to agonize over things, but they are carefully considered decisions nonetheless.  We are not making change for change’s sake, but instead we are seeking a new way.  Each choice we make, no matter how big the risk, is carefully selected to get us closer to our goal.

OK With Discomfort

We have made so many changes over the years that we have gotten used to being uncomfortable.  We don’t even worry about that much anymore,  but we are getting tired of having to leave people and places behind.  We know that the path up the consciousness ladder doesn’t always come with companions along the way.  But we are tired of being alone.  We have been paying the price of progress for years, now we want some payback.  We want a place where we can have some real peers – if only for a while.  We want to be able to look before we leap for once in our lives.  We are willing to jump off a few more cliffs, but we would please like a parachute first, for once.

The Domain of Wisdom

True Believers have stepped out of the Domain of Knowledge and into the Domain of Wisdom.  We have seen the puppet show and we know who pulls the strings.  We have integrated the knowledge we received over the years and now spout wisdom without even thinking about it.  More than anything else, after having a vision of what this has all been about – we want a community of peers to talk to – someone to bring our questions to.  We haven’t a had a true guru teacher in over a decade.  We are past the stage of needing gurus – we have stepped onto our own paths and no one can walk those paths for us, but we do need new perspectives and peers to bounce ideas off of.  And not just anyone, but people who are also in the Domain of Wisdom.

Secret Hopes and Dreams

What we are secretly wishing for with all our being-ness is that our mission and the mission of others will come together to form a greater whole.  We are hoping that we can identify this whole sooner rather than later so that we can work together with the others to consciously bring this new world into being.  We really desperately want to be part of a team.  We want to not be walking alone anymore.
